Christmas Morning with the Hayes

We were awakened on Christmas morning by the sound of drums brought to Connor by Santa.
All 4 of the kids were extremely pleased with their haul! It's been a long time since either Andy or I were with little ones on Christmas morning. It was a blast!

Keeping Our Heads Above Water

Things are still really busy around here. I had my last class for the semester Tuesday night, so one thing is off my plate. Andy has been working like crazy to make up for the fact that his other managers are going to have to work constantly for the 10 days we are gone. Things are busy at my job, too. I have 3 visitors from our central office coming to spend a day working with me over the next week. AARGH!

Dad and Wanda are coming this weekend to celebrate Christmas with us. We were planning to drive to D.C. and fly from there for Christmas, but we found a good fare, so we are going to fly the whole way. We'll be traveling for nearly 24 hours, but at least the main part of our flight is overnight and we'll get some sleep!

Thanksgiving

Much of the family was here for Thanksgiving. We put banquet tables all across the living room and the "younger people" sat at the small table in the dining room. Between Andy and Grandma, we had a great feast! Everybody had a great time, but it was difficult to say goodbye to the extended family that evening. How great it would have been if everyone could have stayed for the whole weekend!

Busy times!

Well, it seems I haven't enough time these last few weeks. We are busy getting everything ready for the family to be here for Thanksgiving. On top of all that, it is crunch time for my class I am taking. Andy has been working a lot and so have I. It doesn't leave much time for relaxing. Oh well, we'll relax on Christmas Eve!

Fall Football

I got to go to the Virginia-UNC game today! My friends Ed (Class of '68) and Mary decided to take me along when their son was unable to go. Unfortunately, we lost...
I forgot to bring my camera with me so I have no pics. I'm really hoping that it won't be another 7 years before I'm at a Virginia game again.

Fishing Trip with Dad

This weekend we went out fishing with Dad and Wanda. We got several croaker and a few mudtoads (YUK!). Andy had never been to see Waterside or Portside, so we cruised up the Elizabeth River and did that. On the way back to the marina, we came upon some dolphins. It's always cool to watch them play! Overall, we had a great time!

Our Great Summer

Andy and I have had a great summer. Now that I'm back at school things have settled down a bit, but here are a few pictures of our adventures this summer...

One weekend Andy and I decided to get out of town. We drove west on old 64. Wound up at Devil's Courthouse for a picnic lunch, spent the night in Asheville and went to the Biltmore before heading back to Jamestown.

Cole made his league's all-star team at the beginning of the July. Quite a big deal for the little man!

The Canal in New Hope, PA

Met up with Robinett and others in August. Great fun at the Panic shows in P-town.

Next weekend, we're heading to VA. Hopefully, Ophelia will not play into ruining our plans to spend Saturday fishing with Dad.
