The New Indiana Jones

Last night was date night and Andy and I went for sushi and to see the new Indy flick. We both walked away from it feeling unsure. If this movie was a stand alone film, we probably would have walked away saying it was great. But it isn't, so I don't think I can say that. The other three movies (ok, the first two in particular) were OUTSTANDING. This one, while a decent movie, pales in comparison. I was happy that while that they easily alluded to the fact that Indiana was older, they didn't get into those "I'm getting too old for this shi*t" jokes that Danny Glover used throughout one of the Lethal Weapon sequels. That would have just been over the top. And, I LOVED the return of Karen Allen as Marion. OK, that gives enough of the movie away. Despite being slightly underwhelmed by the experience, I would still recommend seeing it. The first part of the series left some big shoes to fill and I feel like this one just leaves a little space up at the toes. After you see it, let me know what you think...

It was bland. The best i can say is, I liked it is, sort of! I am glad I saw it in the theatre. It failed to take me to another world. I have a very large "suspension of disbelief". The movie did not fall into that wide gap. I think if I was honest, I would say I did not like it at all. The music was great!
